Cape Air and Utrip Launch A.I. Fueled Travel Planning Tool
New Cape Air Soar & Explore platform to leverage personalized itineraries for passengers, create one-stop travel shop
Seattle, WA, February 28, 2018 – Cape Air, one of America’s largest independent regional airlines, and Utrip, the data-driven travel planning platform that combines the best of local expertise, human experience and artificial intelligence, today announced the beginning of a new partnership that will enable Cape Air customers to craft distinctly personalized, complete travel packages online. The integrated experience, called Soar & Explore, will become available to passengers in the second quarter of 2018 through CapeAir.com.
For travelers booking flights with Cape Air, the revolutionary platform will generate recommendations for in-destination lodging and activity options. Backed by Utrip’s artificial intelligence technology, these recommendations are then automatically personalized according to each traveler’s unique preferences. With 38 destinations in the US and Caribbean, Cape Air will now be able to offer their passengers a comprehensive travel planning experience, increasing customer engagement, loyalty and ancillary services.
“Because of advances in technology, today’s travelers have come to expect personalized digital experiences when planning trips,” said Trish Lorino, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations at Cape Air. “We are excited to deliver that high level of personalization to every one of our customers. By offering a wide variety of bookable, on-the-ground experiences through the platform, we expect to drive revenue, and also spotlight the diverse destinations we serve.”
The Soar & Explore site will feature “destination inspiration,” a Utrip functionality first that allows travelers to easily determine which destinations best match their individual desires. For Cape Air passengers traveling to Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, Billings or multiple locations in the Caribbean, Utrip’s artificial intelligence algorithms take into account their various traveler preferences (such as their likes or dislikes of art, shopping, food and more, or who they’re traveling with, or what the purpose of their trip is, etc.) and offer recommendations of which destinations best suit them.
“Our goal at Utrip is to create a travel planning experience that is incredibly personal and I’m excited to partner with Cape Air to help us accomplish this mission,” said Gilad Berenstein, CEO and founder of Utrip. “Cape Air passengers will now have the ability to plan activities and book hotels—catered specifically to them from one single online location. The platform will also enable the airline to learn much more about their customers to improve marketing efficiency and increase conversion rates.”
Utrip also recently announced the start of a new pilot program with TUI Group, the largest tourism company in the world.
